Yesterday you were a villager. You had a name, a trade, a few coins, and people who knew you. Then the things out of the old mines came up into the hamlet and dragged you down into the dark, and they took all of it away from you. The other shapes shuffling around you in the tunnels used to be your neighbors. Tonight you break for the surface. There is a wizard's tower standing over the hamlet, and if you can fight your way to it you might win your humanity back. Most of you will not. Whoever does greets the dawn a hero. A lethal zero-level gauntlet for Shadowdark, table-tested and built to run fast. You will run four villagers. Try not to get attached. No experience needed. Pregenerated characters provided.
